Mentor's Guide

About money

Mentor can decide on the price of a month (4 weeks). You need to think it over and let Leonid and Kirill know. But there are some details.

First of all, mkdev takes 28%.

We spend mkdev fee on our salaries, marketing, developing the project as well as drugs and sportcars for Leonid and Kirill.

Secondly, if the student pays for less than four weeks, you’ll get more money if it’s recalculated according to the weekly rate. The less the subscription period is, the higher the weekly rate will be.

mkdev encourages the ones who are ready to study for long. So if the student pays for several weeks at a time, the final price is lower. Let’s say that the month is 300 euro. Then:

  • 1 week is 100 euro (mentor earns 70 euro)
  • 2 weeks are 175 euro (mentor earns 122,5 euro)
  • 3 weeks are 250 euro (mentor earns 175 euro)
  • 4 weeks are 300 euro (mentor earns 210 euro)

We don’t sell more than 4 weeks at a time, so 8 weeks will be 600 euro.

Payout procedures

In the mentor’s Office you can see your balance – te amount of money mkdev owes you, a mentor.

You can transfer this money to your account. Open the Payments tab, there are some other links besides Balance.

Before the payout you need to enter your payment details. There are three types of them:
  1. Bank transfer to an EU country
  2. Bank transfer to a non-EU country
  3. PayPal

The information you enter will depend on the type you chosen. Here’s an example:

You can’t edit the payment details, but you can add as many payment detail tabs as needed.

If the Balance is above zero and the payment details are entered, you can transfer your money using the Payout button in the Payments section.

You need to choose the payment method and the amount, then we get the payout request and process it for 3 days after the request or less.

When the request has been processed you’ll get the notification. Then you should wait for some time as different payment methods take different amount of time to process. PayPal transfers the money immediately, bank transfer usually takes several working days.

You pay transfer fee regardless the payment method you’ve chosen.

You can download a pdf-file for the requests that’ve been already processed.

About our EU clients

Our clients living in the EU also pay VAT, so the final sum depends on the country they live in. Let’s look at this example: the mentor’s price is 100 euro a week, the student is from Germany where VAT is 19%. This means that the student will pay 119 euro, 19 of which mkdev needs to pay to the tax office. 30 euros is the mkdev fee, 70 is the mentor’s wages. If we were paying commission from our fee, we would have to exclude 30 from 100 euros and then give 19 out of those 30 to the tax office. Our business cannot advance on such money. This is why VAT is extracted not from mkdev fee. The students pay it themselves.

Our clients living in the US or, say, the CIS countries don’t pay any VAT, of course.

About coupons

Sometimes mkdev gives away different coupons, such as the ones for our regulars, in the event of some holidays or other discounts. Each payment has a note if the coupon was used for it. We try not to give too many coupons, but for us they are important tools for attracting customers. So we reserve the right to issue the coupon on the Black Friday or some other occasion. But we of course let our mentors know about the special deals beforehand.

How to lower the fee

It’s easy, you can write an article for mkdev.me/en/posts and lower the fee by 20%. Each article allows you to have a lower fee for 28 days. If you have, let’s say, 20 students 100 euro each, having written just one article you can increase your mentorship income by 100 euro. 100 euro for one article sounds like a good deal, doesn’t it?

F.A.Q.

I don’t want to pay a transfer fee!

We know, right? Us too! You can forward an invoice and get a payout every three months and pay just once in those three months.

Okay :(( But what if I live in Germany?

There will be no fee, don’t worry.

Can I look for some other way to transfer money which will be cheaper or have no fee at all?

If you find one, we’ll hug you really tight!
